Publish your company by: Name , Market Profile
Edit your company information:

Place your basic company information on the Structnet system.

  1. Go to Structnet Home Page
  2. Go to the Construction Information Center
  3. Select "Structnet Search Engine"
  4. Select " Add or Edit Vendor"
  5. Select "ADD" from the upper screen
  6. Input all of your company information in the data boxes. Click the word above the data box for definitions and instructions on each box.
  7. Review Information: Now review all of your information.
  8. Selct Submit.

Edit your basic company information on the Structnet system.

  1. Select " Add or Edit Vendor" from the main menu
  2. Place your vendor name into the "EDIT A VENDOR" data box
  3. Place your password in the PASSWORD box.
  4. Select "EDIT"
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select EDIT VENDOR DATA
  6. Edit your company information in the data boxes. Click the word above the data box for definitions and instructions on each box.
  7. Selct Submit. Now review all of your information. If all of the information is OK proceed to ADD NEW MARKETING INFO.

Become A Member. Place your market profile here

Scroll the upper window down and Select "ADD NEW MARKETING INFO." Complete the form.

Add Your CompanyMarket Profile:

  1. Job Type: Click on the down arrow and select the type of project on which you wish to work. A paving contractor may wish to do any kind of work, but a steel stud and drywall contractor may only want to do commercial work. You may create as many combinations of projects and locations as you wish. Keep your market profile limited to only what projects you wish to receive requests for bid. Don't bother the customer and don't bother your company's sales department with projects you do not wish to pursue. If you wish to change, add new market profile or delete some profile records, you have full control with your password. If you decide to add an additional sales territory to your profile you can do this at any time.
  2. Vendor Type: Click on the down arrow to reveal the list of Vendor types. The word Contractor covers a multitude of items. Under this sytem, an architect, engineer, insurance company etc. are all considered contractors. If you don't fit any of the other categories, you are a contractor.
  3. Zip Code : Input the range of zip codes that define the geographical range in which the company does business for this particular market segment. You may wish to enter several different market segments with different zip code ranges. Example: If you are a concrete contractor and will work on a $1,000,000 project within 50 miles of your offices, but will travel 200 miles to work on a $5,000,000 project. These are different market segments and will require added records. You may add as many market segments in your profile as you wish. With the following zip code min and max you will be solicited for bids in the geographical area between zip code 92000 and 94000.
  4. List: (Zip codes by State) or (States by Zip Code) for California list by County
    1. Zip Code Min: Lower end of zip code range eg. 92000
    2. Zip code Max: Upper end of zip code range eg. 94000
  5. Select Submit
  6. Another market segment: If you wish to add another market segment to your profile go to step 7 otherwise go "BACK TO MAIN".
  7. Select previous record: Select one of the previous records by clicking in the small window to the left of the word "Record".
  8. Select add new market data:
  9. Modify Databox: :The information in the databoxes is a duplicate from the record previously selected. Change the information to suit your needs. eg. Leave all of the information the same except change the zip code range. This will give you the same trades and types of work, except in another geographical location.
  10. Select Submit:
  11. Another market segment: If you wish to add another market segment to your profile go back to step 6 otherwise go to step 12.
  12. Create Home Page or Back to main: If you wish to create a company home page go to "Creating a Home Page" otherwise go "BACK TO MAIN".

Creating a Home Page:

  1. Select Create a Home Page:
  2. URL: Enter a name of your company. This will be part of your web address Use only lower case letters and no spaces. You may use dashes to separate words. If anyone anywhere in the world types in this address they will find your page.
  3. Select a color scheme: Select the color and backgrounds that you wish.
  4. Enter links: You may enter up to three website addresses or mail addresses.
  5. View Finished Colors: View your finished color scheme sample. If you don't like it, use your back arrows and change the colors and repeat steps.
  6. View Final Page: If you like the sample, select View My Page and see your final web page.
  7. Back to main. If you like it, arrow back one step and select "back to main"

Simple company Search:

  1. To review the information that others will see when they search for your company, go "back to main" and select "Search for Vendor"
  2. Search Criteria: Searches can be done by any single or multiple catagories in the table. The simple search is by company name.
  3. Input the company name in the company data box and select search.Your company's basic information page should appear. If you have a web site or created a new one with our web page builder, the new URL: should appear. Click on the URL: and see your web page. If all is ok then arrow back to the main menu.
  4. If you need to make changes in your basic information go to "Vendor Edit"

Vendor Selection & Search System

The Vendor Selection & Search System is a four step process that will help to identify the companies that you need, to get the job done.

  1. Go to Structnet Home Page
  2. Go to the Construction Information Center
  3. Select "Structnet Search Engine"
  4. Select " Vendor Selection"
  5. Company Information: Add your COMPANY NAME. FAX, EMAIL, PHONE, PROJECT NAME information. These will identify you and the project to the companies that you select.
  6. Project Information: JOB TYPE, VENDOR TYPE, GENERAL COST CODE SELECTION, TOTAL PROJECT VALUE, and JOB ZIP CODE boxes match your project requirements with the vendor's market profile. This process will narrow down the contacts to only those companies that meet your specific project requirements.
  7. Submit Company and Project Information: Press the SUBMIT button, and you're one step closer to getting the job done!
  8. Step TWO: Select the COST CODES that you need for your job by clicking the WHITE BOX next to the category of interest.
    1. To help find the categories that you need, click your mouse in the DETAILED COST CODE SELECTION frame.
    2. Next, hit the CTRL F buttons on your keyboard.
    3. Then, type in a few letters of the category of interest and press the ENTER key.
  9. Print Cost Code List: When you're finished selecting all the COST CODES related to your project, you may PRINT a copy of this list.
    1. Place your cursor anywhere in the right frame and left click. This selects the right frame for printing.
    2. Select the print icon on your browser and you will get a report of all selected cost codes.
    3. After printing the report, press the SUBMIT button, and you're two steps closer to getting the job done!
  10. Step THREE: Select the VENDORS that you would like to notify about your job.
  11. Click the WHITE BOX next to the company's name. All selected companies will be automatically sent an EMAIL concerning your job. If a company doesn't have an EMAIL address, then we'll help you FAX them your job's information in Step FOUR.
  12. Visit Vendors Web Site:If a company's name is RED or PURPLE , then you can find out more information about them by clicking on their NAME. To help you find out additional information about a company, STRUCTNET lists the company's EMAIL and PHONE number, when available.
  13. E-mail to Vendor: Click on the EMAIL address. This will reveal a pre-addressed EMAIL form ready to send to that specific vendor.
  14. Generate E-mail to Vendor: When you're finished selecting all the VENDORS related to your project, add any information on the project that may be helpful to the vendors in pursuing the project. This can be done in the box labeled "Additional Job Information Your Suppliers May Want to Know:" at the end of this list.
  15. Additional Job Information Your Suppliers May Want to Know: Please fill in all the information a Supplier needs to know to make an informed bid on your project. You may cut and paste information right into this form.After completing the information, press the SUBMIT button. This will automatically generate an EMAIL letter addressed directly to the vendors that you have selected. If you included your EMAIL address in step 1, it will automatically send you an EMAIL similar to those sent to the vendors. It will also prepare documents for you to print and fax to those vendors that do not have EMAIL. Now you're three steps closer to getting the job done! Suggested information for the vendor includes:

      Job Name:
      Job Address:
      Bid Date:
      Bid Time:
      Estimator: Name, URL, Email address
      Location of Archectectural Drawings and Specs ( Physical address and URL:) These suggestions may be cut from the page to the right and pasted into this area as a guide. You may also cut and paste from another document to fill this space.
  16. FAX Document Preparation: Place your cursor in the left frame and click once. Then select the print icon from your Netscape browser. This will print the fax documents to be sent to those contractors that do not have e-mail.
  17. You are now done.

Add Company Information and Market Profile:

If you decide you wish to become a member of the Structnet Information System, you may add new marketing information. This is where you add your company's market profile. Included in this information is where your company does business by zip code range (93000 - 95000), what size range projects you whch to do ($1,000,000 to $20,000,000), what type of project you wish to do (commercial, residential etc), and the type of work that you wish to do (carpentry, grading etc.). This service is free for the first 90 days. At the end of 60 days you will be asked if you wish to continue your membership. You will have another 30 days to decide to maintain your home page and market profile or have the profile removed. The cost for this service is only $20.00 per month for the market profile and the home page. The basic company information will remain on the system free of charge.
